Stephen Kubacki is a freelance writer in Ann Arbor, Michigan. His in-progress novel is The Gospel of Josaphat a satirical, but heartfelt take on the Bible, the Dhammapada, the Analects and other sacred writings. It’s a story about a bunch of college kids on a quest to get a passing grade in their comparative religion class. It’s also about a smelly street preacher who likes to hang out in a bookstore where one student works. And mostly it’s about a bunch of college kids and what happens when they meet and befriend this smelly street preacher. Against everyone’s advice Kubacki is writing and now shamelessly promoting his silly story about the schizophrenic messiah who not only thinks he Jesus Christ, but the Buddha, Krishna, and who knows what else? If you haven’t clicked somewhere else already, stick around and follow this burgeoning writers progress. With tail between legs the fledgling presents his aptly named blog “The Big Lacuna” which is indeed either a big empty or a large erasure. The path is the one that should never be taken by anyone, but it’s where Kubacki came from and it may help explain his self-delusion. The autodidactic writer thinks that someone might really be interested in web resources on the religions of his eclectic characters or keen on obscure or otherwise boring books supposedly read for research by the author. The megalomaniac penman also insisted on posting excerpts from the incomplete and unpublished The Gospel of Josaphat. Finally there’s the t-shirt store it’s shameless capitalism. Ugh!
